Suzuki DT8CDT9.9C 25 mm (0.9-1.0 inAdjust float level by bending float tangFUEL PUMPThe fuel pump is an integral part of carburetorFuel pump assembly can be overhauled without carburetor removalRefer to Fig SZ7-1 to disassemble pumpNote position of cover (21) and check valve assembly (18) for reference during reassemblyInspect all components for damage or excessive wear and renew if necessaryClean all passages with suitable solvent and blow dry with compressed airREED VALVESThe reed valves are located between intake manifold and crankcaseThe reed petals should seat very lightly against reed plate throughout entire length of reed petal with the least possible tensionTip of reed petal must not stand open more than 0.2 mm (0.008 in from contact surfaceRenew reed petal if not to specificationReed stop opening should be 7.8 mm (0.310 inRenew reeds if petals are broken, cracked, warped, rusted or bentNever attempt to bend reed petal or to straighten damaged reedNever install bent or damaged reedSeating surface of reed plate should be smooth and flatWhen instalIing reeds or reed stop, make sure that petals are centered over inlet holes in reed plate, and that reed stops are centered over reed petalsApply Suzuki Thread Lock 1342 or suitable equivalent thread locking compound to reed petal mounting screwsSPEED CONTROL LINKAGEThrottle opening and timing advance must be synchronized to occur simultaneouslyCheck and adjust, if necessary, the ignition timing as outlined in the IGNITION section prior to speed control linkage adjustmentTh adjust speed control linkage, rotate throttle to wide open positionWith throttle full open, front tab on stator stopper (2-FigSZ7-3) should touch boss (3) on engine blockIf not, adjust carburetor link rod (9-FigSZ7-4) so tab
