Suzuki DT75DT85 NOTE: On mOdelafler 1982, gearcasa end cap (58) I"'!alned to g.orca08 by two rings should be renewed when unit is reassembledBacklash between pinion gear (49) and drive gears (41 and 53) should be 0.05-0.30 mm (0.002-0.012 in on models prior to 1983 and 0.1-0.2 mm (0.0040.008 in on models after 1982Backlash is adjusted by varying thickness of shims (40 and 54)Propeller shaft end play should be 0.05-0.30 mm (0.002-0.012 in on models prior to 1983 and 0.2-0.4 mm (0.008-0.016 in on models after 1982Propeller shaft end play is adjusted by increasing or decreasing the thickness of shim (51)Reassemble gearcase by reversing disassembly procedure while noting the following: Install dog clutch (45) on propeller shaft (56) so "F" mark (FigSZ1619) is facing forward gear SZI6-

18)Tighten pinion nut to 50-70 ?-I'm (4451 ftAbs on models prior to 1983 and 70-80 N-m (51-58 ftAbs on models after 1982Apply water-resistant grease to "0" ring (57)Apply silicone sealer to gearcase and bearing housing (18) mating surfaces and to bearing housing and drive shaft housing mating surfacesCoat retaining screws in area next to screw head with silicone sealerEngage shift shaft (4) in shift rod (5) eyelet and attach shift arm (2)Secure with nutsFill gearcase with outboard gear oil as outlined in LUBRICATION
