Suzuki DT50, DT60DT65 (Prior to 1985)
engages groove in cylinder blockInstall drive shaft seal (18) into seal housing (19) with open side towards lower unitApply sufficient amount of waterresistant grease to seal housing (19) to fill area between lower crankshaft seal and drive shaft seal, then install seal housing to cylinder blockApply coat of Suzuki Bond No.4 or suitable sealer to mating surfaces of crankcase and cylinder block and position crankcase on cylinder blockUsing tightening sequence shown in FigSZ14-19tighten the crankcase screws to 46-54 X' (34-39 ftAbs on DT50 (1984) and DT60 models and 4060 'm (29-44 ftIbs on all other modelsInstall uppor crankshaft seal (16-FigSZ14-1S) into seal housing (14) with open side towards cylinder block, then install seal housing to cylinder block assemblyCylinder head gasket should he installed without the application of 'a gasket sealerWith valve (6) and spring (7) installed in cylinder block, position cylinder headcylinder head cover and related gaskets on cylinder block then using tightening sequence shown in FigSZ14-20, tighten the mm screws to 8-12 N'm (6-9 ftlbs and the 10 mm screws to 4(.54 N'm (&4-39 ftAbs on DT50 (1984) and DT60 models and 40-60 'm (29-44 ftlbs on all other modelsRINGS, PISTONS AND CYLINDERSThe pistons are fitted with two piston ringsPiston rings are interchangeable in grooves but must he installed with manufacturers marking toward closed end of pistonPiston ring end gap should he 0.2-0.4 mm (0.0080.016 in with maximum allowable ring end gap of 0.8 mm (0.031 inPiston to cylinder wall clearance should be 0.097-0.112 mm (0.0038-0.0044 in on DT50 models prior to 1984 and 0.1120.127 mm (0.0044-0.0050 in,) on all other modelsPistons and rings are available in standard size as well as 0.25
