Suzuki DT35 (After 1986)DT40 (After 1983)If powe tilt malfunction oceurs make sure malfunct ion is not due to wi ling, connections or electric motor failure1b check down circu it pressuredisconnect down tube (D-FigS21 3-:36) from pump nd ilt cylindel: Connect :34.5 MP-a (5000 psi) pressure gage be tween pump nd cylinderMa ke sure manua release valve is fully close (clockwise) Operate power tilt switch in the down direction until tilt cylind er rod is fully retract ed Down pressure should be 3000-7000 kPa (435-1015 psi)Remove test gagerei nstall down line (D) nd
OUTBOARD MOTOR
bleed air from hydraulk system making sure reservo ir is full of oilTo test up pressure, remove up line (U) from pump and cylinderConnect test gage between pump and cylinder in up circuit (U) Ope rate tilt switch in the up irecti on until cylinder rod is full extended Up pressure sh ould 1:3.000-17.000 kPa (1 885-2466 psi)Hemove test gage and reinstall up lin (U )Making sure reservoir is full of oilbleed al air from hydra ulic syste Renew pump and valve body assembly if hydrauliC pressure is low or erratic
