SERVICE MANUAL sembly is evident after inspection of unit and referral to exploded view Standard commutator outside diameter is 19.6 mm (0 .77 in Renew armature if commutator outside diameter is worn to 19 mm (0.75 in or lessRenew starter brushes if worn to 4.5 mm (0 .18 in or lessDuring reassembly, make sure upper and lower alignment marks on frame (6-FigSZ6-32) align with marks on frame head (5) and brush cover (10) Starter assembly should be bench tested prior to installation on power head
