SERVICE MANUAL DISASSEMBLYDisassembly and inspection may be accomplished in the following mannerRemove cylinder headRemove intake manifold and reed plate assembly from crankcaseRemove exhaust cover assembly and lower oil housingRemove ten crankcase cap screws, then separate crankcase from cylinder blockLift crankshaft assembly with piston and connecting rod assemblies from cylinder blockEngine components are now accessible for overhaul as outlined in the appropriate following paragraphsClean carbon from cylinder head and combustion chambers and remove any foreign material accumulation in water passagesInspect components for damage and renew if neededRefer to the following section for assembly procedureASSEMBLYRefer to specific service sections when assembling the crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons and reed valvesMake sure all joint and gasket surfaces are clean and free from nicks and burrsMake sure all carbon, salt, dirt and sand are cleaned from the combustion chambers, exhaust ports and water passagesLubricate crankpin bearings and cylinder walls with Suzuki "CCI" oil or suitable NMMA certified TC-W engine oilInstall crankshaft assembly in crankcaseMake sure shim (I-FigSZ412) is properly placed on crankshaftApply coat of Suzuki Bond No.4 or suitable equivalent on mating surfaces of crankcase and cylinder blockPosition crankcase half on cylind er block
