Crankshaft Journal Oil Clearance Check clearance using Plastigauge according to the following procedureNOTE Assemble each bearing in its original position before checking clearance1) Clean surface of bearing holder (crankcase, and cylinder), bearing, and main bearing journal2) Install main bearing (1) to cylinder and crankcaseNOTE Align tab "A" of bearing with notch in cylinder and crankcase Do not apply engine oil to bearing Install lower bearing half with oil holegroove towards cylinder side
