Cylinder Head Removal and Installation
Removal 1) Prior to removing cylinder head assembly; Remove the power unitRefer to "Power Unit Removal and Installation" (Page 1D-11) Remove the timing chainRefer to "Timing Chain, Chain Tensioner and Camshaft Sprockets Removal and Installation" (Page 1D-20) Remove the INand EXcamshaftsRefer to "Camshaft, Tappet and shim Removal and Installation" (Page 1D-25)2) Loosen and remove fifteen cylinder head bolts in the order indicated in figureRemove cylinder head assembly and head gasketNOTE Use special tool (10 mm deep socket wrench) when loosening cylinder head boltsSpecial tool (A): 0991916010 (Deep socket wrench (10 mm))

Installation Installation is in reverse order of removal paying special attention to the following stepsCAUTION Do not reuse gasketAlways use new gasket1) Insert the dowel pins (1) and place new cylinder head gasket (2) into position on the cylinderNOTE Before installing cylinder head gasket, apply sealant to both surfaces of the hatched areas shown in illustration: Sealant 9900031140 (SUZUKI Bond 1207B (100 g))
