SENSOR AND SWITCH
CKP (Crankshaft Position) SENSOR There is one (1) CKP sensor installed below the flywheel rotorWhen the reluctor bars on the flywheel pass the sensor, signal (voltage pulse) is generated and sent to the ECMThis is the fundamental signal used to judge engine speed and crankshaft angleThere are 34 reluctor bars, spaced 10 degrees apart, followed by 20 degree index spaceDuring one crankshaft rotation, 34 signals are input to the ECMCMP (Camshaft Position) SENSOR #1 CMP sensor #1 is mounted on the cylinder head cover with trigger vanes pressed onto the end of the exhaust camshaftThis sensor detects piston position Signals received from this sensor are also used by the ECM to determine sequential fuel injection and ignition control
