Shifting the clutch to reverse causes the shift rod to raise the reverse lock arm, thereby locking the bottom end of the thrust bIock, so that the tendency of reverse propulsion to tilt up the motor is counteredI other words, the motor will not tilt up when the propeller is running in reverse direction
