1Clean clutch actuator rod in solvent and dry with compressed air2Inspect actuator components for wear or damageReplace components as required

1Remove forward gear from bearing adapter2Inspect forward gear clutch teeth for signs of wearIf clutch teeth are worn, sliding clutch should be replaced also3Inspect forward gear teeth for full tooth contact, chips, pits and signs of rustIf forward gear teeth are damaged, pinion gear must be inspected and replaced if necessary4Inspect forward gear hub for signs of pitting, rust, scoring or discoloration (blueing) due to lack of lubricant5Remove thrust bearing and spacer shimInspect thrust bearing for pits, rust, or discoloration (blueing) due to lack of lubricant
