5Adjust shift cable barrel, as fol lowsNOTE: To clear anchor bracket when rotating cable barrelshift remote into reverseaWith both outboard and remote control in neutral position, hole in shift cable barrel should align with mounting hole of anchor bracket when 1) center distance mark (from step 4) on shift lever is aligned with edge of anchor bracket and 2) center mark of cable slack (from step 2) is aligned with edge of cable end 6Check shift operation as follows:
a Shi ft remote control into forward gear (when in
forward gear, propeller shaft cannot be rotated in counterclockwise direction
bShift remote control into neutral position (without going past neutral detent in control housing Propeller shaft should be free to rotate either direction without interference
cShift remote control into reverse gear (while
