12Recheck shift shaft spline engagement and correct if necessary13Torque nuts to 40 lbft(54.0 Nm)14Check shift operation as follows: Place shift lever into forward gear positionRotate flywheel clockwise (viewed from top); propeller shaft should rotate counterclockwisePlace shift lever into neutral positionPropeller should rotate freely clockwisecounterclockwise Propeller Installation AWARNING
When installing or removing propeller, verify that the outboard gear case is in the NEUTRAL positionRemove spark plug high tension leads from spark plugs to prevent accidental startingPlace block of wood between the anti-ventilation plate and the propeller to protect hands from propeller blades while removing or Installing propeller nut1To aid in future removal of the propeller, liberally coat the propeller shaft splines with one of the following Quicksilver products: -
