Installing Gear Housing to Drive Shaft Housing ACAUTION
Disconnect high tension leads from spark plugs and remove spark plugs from engine before installing gear housing onto drive shaft housingFailure to follow this warning could result In accidental engine starting and possible injury1Tilt engine to full up position and engage the tilt lock lever2Install nylon tube and ru bber seal onto drive shaft3Applya light coat of Quicksifver 2-4-C Marine Lubricant onto drive shaft splines
4Apply light coat of Quicksilver 2-4-C Marine Lubricant nto shift shaft splines (DO NOT use lu bricant on top of shift shaft
5Sh ift gear housing into forward gear
ACAUTION
DO NOT use lubricant on top of drive shaft to crankshaft splinesExcess lubricant, that is trapped in clearance space, will not allow drive shalt to fully engage with crankshaftSubsequently, tightening the gear housing nuts (while lubricant is on top of drive shaft) will load the drive shaft crankshaft and damage either or both the powerhead and gear housingTop of drive shaft is to be wiped free 01 lubricantaShill Shalt (Rotate Full Clockw ise)
