8If inspection determines that replace ment of driveshaft tapered bearing is requ ired, proceed as follows: 1To remove lower tapered bearing, position driveshaft assembly in press with Universal Puller Plat (91-3724 1) underneath lower tapered bearing2Thread used pin ion nut (c) partiaUy onto pinion gear end of driveshaft and press on pinion nut on ly to remove lower tapered bearing from driveshaftBe carefu to support driveshaft as bearing is removed 3To remove upper tapered bearing, position driveshaft in viseDO NOT tighte vise jaws against driveshaft4Strike crankshaft end of driveshaft with lead hammer to remove upper tapered bearing 8e carefu not to drop driveshaft as bearing is removed
