Clutch Actuator Rod CLEANING AND INSPECTION
DISASSEMBLY
IMPORTANT: Keepa record of shim amounts and location during disassembly of clutch actuator rod to aid In reassembly1Push locating pin out of clu tch actuator rod 2After locating pin is removedcompression springs and shim (s) are free to fall ut of lutch actuator rod3Refer to Step in "C lutch Actuator Rod-Inspectio n" for spring length requi rements
ACAUTION
Care MUST BE taken when handling clutch actuator rodThe locating pin is ree and wllliall out, allowing compression springs and shims to fall out
1, Clean cl utch actuator rod in solvent and dry with com pressed air2Insert Cross Pin Tool (C-91-86642) between compression sp rings in elongated slot in clutch rod3Compress both springs by forcing cross pin tool back-and-forth in elongated slotThis wi ll release any init ial set from spri ngs
4Measu re distance from each end of elongated slot
to the near side of cross pin toolThe measurements taken mu st be equal within 1 64" [.016" (O.4mm)l
