57 Remove each rod cap and bearing race assembly (16 bearings in each assembly) Rod caps are cracked and MUST BE kept with their respective rod if they are to be reusedRod bolts should be replaced after each disassemblyBearings should be kept with thei respective races and rod assemblies if they will be reused58Remove crankshaft from block Protect block surface if pry bar is to be used in aiding in removal of crankshaftDO NOT pry on oil pum gearSlide gear off crankshaft fi rst 62 Remove retaining ring from below bottom main bearing and remove bottom main bearing only if inspection shows bearing to be defective
