Bosch Starter Disassembly
1Remove sta rter as outlined inStarter Removal and Installation", preceding
5Remove armature (along with drive end cap) from starter frame6If necessa ry, remove parts from armature shaft by first removing locknut
2Remove thru bolts from starter

3Tap commutator end cap to loosen and remove from starter frameBe ca reful not to lose brush spring s4Brush replacement is recommended, if brushes are pittedchipped or worn to less than 1 4" (S.4mmJIf necessary, remove brushes as follows:
