5Remove engine from water (or remove flushing at tachment)Place engine in vertical position6Remove spark plugs from engine and spray approx imately one ounce (30 ml) of Quicksilver Storage Seal into each spark plug hole using starter motor, crank engine over several revolutions to distribute Storage Seal throughout cy lindersReinstall spark plugs7Clean fuel fil ters on fuel pumpsRefer to Section 38Drain and refill lower unit with QuickSilver SuperDuty Lower Unit Lubricant, as explained in "Gea Housing Lubricati on" (seeIndex")9Clean motor thoroughlyincluding all accessible powerhead parts, and spray with Quicksilver Cor rosion and Rust Preventive Type II10Refer to lubrication chart in thi section (seeIndex") and lu bricate all lubrication points11Remove propellerApply Quicksilver Special Lubri cant 101or 2-4-C Marine Lubricantor Perfect Seal to propeller shaft and reinstall propellerRefer to "Pro peller Selection and Installation" (see "Index")12Store battery as outfined in "Out-at-Season Battery Storage", followingIMPORTANT: When storing outboard forthe winter, be sure that all water drain holes in gear housing are open and free so that all water will drain outIf speedometer Is Installed in the boat, disconnect the pickup tube and allow il to drainReconnect the tubeaflerdrainingTrapped water may freeze and expand, thus cracking gear housing andlor water pump housingCheck and refill gear housing with Quicksilver SuperDuly Gear lubricant before storage to protect against possible water leakage into gear housing which Is caused by loose lubricant vent plug or loose grease 1111 plugInspect gaskets under lubricant vent and till plugs, replacing any damaged gaskets, before reinstalling plugs 5Remove battery from storage every 60 daysCheck water level and place on charge for to hours at amperesDO NOT fast charge
