Ride-Guide Steering Attaching Kit Installation Remove (and discard) steering handle from engineRemove tilt tube from engine and replace with longer tilt tube (a), spacer (b), and new nuts (c)IMPORTANT: Install tilt tube so that there will be minimum of 34 inch length of threads showing on starboard side
Insert steering cable end thru engine tilt tube and secure steering cable to tilt tube with steering cable attaching nut, as shownTorque nut to 35 Ibsft(41
Install rubber bumper on inside of locking sleeve, then install locking sleeve over steering cable attaching nut and secure with cotter pinSpread ends of cotter pinBe sure to install cotter pin so that it is located inbetween attaching nut and grease fitting, as shown
Refer to "Quicksilver Accessories Guide" to determine correct length of steering cable and remote control cablesIMPORTANT: Steering cable and remote control cables MUST BE THE CORRECT LENGTH, sharp bends on too-short cables result in "kinks"; too-long cables require unnecessary bends andor loopsBoth conditions place extra stress on the cablesIMPORTANT: Before installing steering cable into tilt tube, lubricate entire cable end with Quicksilver 2-4-C Lubricant (92-86154) or Quicksilver Multipurpose Lubricant (92-75605)
