5Reinstall starter handle (a) and rope retainer (b) on new rope [cut to length of 66 in(161 .7cm)] Tie knot (c) into end of rope and install rope retainer into starter handle 7While holding starter sheave (a) in this position, lift knot (b) from recess (c) and pull all remaining rope from sheave
8Turn starter sheave (a) counterclockwise until stop, indicating spring is wound tight9Slowly turn sheave clockwise (with spring tension) until knot recess (b) is aligned with rope hole (c) in starter housing
