IMPORTANT: Clean connecting rod screws with solvent and dry with compressed air to prevent damage to threads while torquingDO NOT apply oil to threads prior to installationc Observe connecting rodcap fracture line for correct alignment and secure connecting rod (with lobe side of rod toward flywheel end of crankshaft) onto crankshaft with rod cap and screws Torque screws to 100 lbin(11 .2 N.m) 6Install new piston rings (a) Position ring end gaps 1800 apart on piston pin center line
7Install piston onto connecting rod as followsIMPORTANT: When replacing needle bearings, replace all needles as setDo not use old and new needles togetheraLubricate sleeve (a) part of piston pin tool with Needle Bearing Assembly LubricantbHold lower locating washer (b) and sleeve (a) onto piston pin bore of connecting rod and install needle bearing set of 24 (c)
