6Thoroughly clean crankshaft with solvent and dry compressed air7Recheck surfaces of crankshaft and replace crankshaft if surfaces can not be properly "cleaned up"8If crankshaft will be reused, apply light oil to prevent rust ROLLER BEARINGS

1Clean roller bearing with solvent and dry with compressed airLubricate bearing with light oil2Thoroughly inspect roller bearingIf roller bearing is rusted, fracturedworn, galled or badly discoloreddiscard bearing (Refer to "Powerhead Disassembly"preceding)
1Clean seals in solvent and dry with compressed air2Inspect seal (especially lips) for nicks, grooves, cracks and distortion that could cause leaksReplace as necessary
Connecting Rod
1Check connecting rod for straightness by placing rods on surface plateIf light can be seen under any portion of machined surfaces, if rod has slight wobble on plate or, if .002" feeler gauge can by inserted between any machined surface and surface plate, rod is bent and must be discarded
