Zinc Anode A zinc anode is self-sacrificing component that will be consumed gradually by corrosion while it protects an aluminum drive from the damaging effects of galvanic corosion Inspect the zinc anode regularly and replace it when anode has been approximately 50 consumedIMPORTANT: DO NOT paint or place protective coating on zinc anodes (or the "contact surface" on the drive), or their corrosion protection is lost
3Lubricate gear housing as instructed previously4Lubricate other points as indicated, preceding5Lubricate starter motor shaft with light film of SAE No10 oilDo not over-lubricate6Service spark plugs Inspect spark plug leads and electrical leads for damage or deteriorationas explained in "Electrical and Ignition" section7Inspect fuel lines for damage or deterioration and service fuel filters as indicated in Section 38Remove propeller and inspectTrim nicks and burrs with file, being careful not to remove more metal than absolutely necessaryInspect for cracks, damage or bent conditionIf condition is doubtfulrefer to authorized icksi Iver Propeller repai Station facilitiesBefore reinstalling propeller, coat propeller shaft with recommended waterproof-type lubricant9Inspect the engine surface finish for damage or corrosionThoroughly clean damaged or corroded areas and apply matching paint (Quicksilver Spray Paints)10Check trim tab and galvanic corrosion inhibitor for damage or for deterioration from salt water operation 11Check remote controls and steering Be sure that all connections and fittings are in good conditionproperly secured and correctly adjusted
