Thoroughly clean mating surface of crankcase cover and cylinder block with solvent to remove oilApply continuous bead of Loctite No514 (a) on cylinder block, as shown Install cylinder head (a) with gasket (b) as shownTorque bolts to 85 lb in (10 Nm)
ACAUTION
Before applying Loctite No514 to cylinder block, make sure that mating surface of crankcase cover and cylinder block are clean and free of oilLoctite must be applied in continuous bead along the inside of mounting bolt holes, as shownIf void should occur when applying bead of Loctite, either remove the entire bead with rag or apply an additional bead parallel to the void and overlapping the previously applied beadAssemble crankcase cover to cylinder block without lateral movementPlace crankcase cover in position on cylinder block and fasten with bolts (a) Tighten bolts evenly and torque to 50 lb in (6 Nm)
