Shift Cable Adjustment and Installation to the Outboard (Continued) 45Manually shift the engine (move shift actuator "a") into neutral detent positionSlide shift actuator (a) forward unlit resistance is felt, then slide shift actuator toward rear until resistance is feltCenter the shift actuator between resistance pointsShift remote control into reverse while turning propellerThe propshatt should lock solidly in gearIf not, adjust barrel away from cable end guideRepeat steps thru cReturn remote control handle to neutralThe propeller should turn freely without dragIf not, adjust barrel closer to cable end guideRepeat steps Ihru dThrottle Cable Adjustment and Installation to the Outboard
NOTE: Attach Shift cable 10 engine prior to attaching throttle cable123Position remote control handle in neutral detentPosition engine throttle lever against idle stopInstall throttle cable 10 throttle lever with plastic washer (a) and locknut (b) Tighten locknut against throttle cable than back- off the locknut 114 turn Hold throttle lever against idle stopAdjust cable barrel (c) to slip into ils plastic retainer wilh very light preload of the throttle lever against the idle stop
