INSTALLING VALVES 1Always use new valve seals Camshaft Installation
1Apply engine oillO Ihe main journals (3 places) on the cams haft2Slide camshaft into cyli nder head (threaded end towards driven gear)3Install camshaft retaining boltTighten bolt to the specified torque
2Apply engine oil to the valves and valve seats3Install valves as shownaCamshaft Retaining Boll
Camshaft Retaining Bolt Torque 57 lbin(6 .4 Nm) 4Place driven gear on camshaft so alignment pin is in holeHold gear with 1001 (91-83163M) and fasten with washer and boltTighten bolt to the specified torque 5Remove any oil from the camshaft lobes and apply Moly Grease 10 Ihe lili portion of Ihe lobesObtain Moly Grease from local source
NOTE:Rotate camshaft after assembly to ensure it rotates smoothly53735
