Reverse Gear Bearing Adaptor Assembly REMOVAL
REVERSE GEAR BEARING ADAPTOR ASSEMBLY -INSPECTION
1Remove the reverse gear bearing adaptor using the tools as shown in the next figureRemove, measure and make note of the shim thicknessIf the shims are not damaged, they may be reused
1Thoroughly clean the reverse gear bearing adaptor with suitable solvent and dry it using compressed airNOTE: The condition of the bearing sUfiaces on the reverse gear in the areas that the bearings of the bearing adaptor and the thrust bearing rides, is an indication of the condition of the respective bearingsReplace the bearing(s) if the surface of the gear and or the thrust washer is pitted, grooved, scored, worn unevenly, discolored from overheating or has embedded metal particles
