10Install oil seal into upper bearing carrier assembly as follows: aApply light film of 2-4-C wlTeflon (92-825407 12) to outer diameter of oil seal; this will ease seal installation into carrierbLubricate oil seal lip with 2-4-C wlTefloncUse suitable mandrel, press oil seal into carrier (lip facing DOWN) until bottomed out on shoulder of carrier Install upper and lower end caps and then inspect fit between sealing rings and groovesTemporarily install crankcase cover and rotate crankshaft several times to check if sealing rings are binding against crankshaft(You will feel drag on the crankshaft If sealing rings are binding, recheck grooves for burrsIf this does not correct the problem, it is recommended that the cylinder block be replacedInstall crankshaft as follows:
1Lubricate crankshaft sealing rings with light oil2Check cylinder block to be sure that dowel pins are in place
dLubricate a-ring with 2-4-C wlTeflon and install on carrieraO-ringSeal
