CLEANING and INSPECTION of TRIM RODS and CAPS
SEAL (LOCATED IN CAP) REPLACEMENT Pry old seal from cap
ACAUTION
Do not remove check valve (a) from trim rod (b)Check valve is preset to operate at specific pressureRemoval and reinstallation of check valve could result in improper operating pressure and possible Power Trim system damageNOTE: Only the port trim rod is equipped with check valveInspect check valve (a) for debris; clean debris from check valve if found If debris can not be cleaned from check valve, replace trim rod and check valve as an assemblyInspect check valve screen (c) (if equipped) for debris; clean debris from screen if foundaScrewdriverSealCap

Push new seal into cap with seal lip upINSTALLATION NOTE: Port trim rod (a) is the trim rod equipped with check valveIMPORTANT: Components must be dirt and lint freeSlightest amount of debris in Power Trim system could cause system to malfunctionApply Quicksilver Power TrimSteering Fluid or; Automotive Transmission Fluid (ATF) Type F, FA or Dexron II, on all a-rings and seal lips during reassemblyInstall trim rods (a and b) and caps (c)as shown Using Cap RemovalInstallation Tool (91-44487A1) or Spanner Wrench (91-74951)tighten caps securelyLube rod ends (d) with Quicksilver Anti-Corrosion Grease or Special Lubricant 101
