MAXIMUM TIMING ADVANCE ADJUSTMENT With engine in forward gear, advance throttle arm until specified maximum timing mark is in-line with timing indicator, then adjust screw (a) so it is just touching spark advance lever when specified maximum timing mark is lined up with timing pOinter FULL THROTTLE STOP SCREW ADJUSTMENT 1With engine not running, move throttle lever (a) to wide open throttle (WOT)2Adjust full throttle stop screw (b) to allow full carburetor shutter opening at WOTIMPORTANT: Make sure carburetor shutter does not act as the full throttle stop
THROTTLE SECONDARY PICKUP ADJUSTMENT 1With engine not running, position spark advance lever (a) against maximum spark adjustment screw
Adjust engine idle RPM, as follows: 1With engine in water, start engine and allow to warm up2With throttle cable barrel removed from barrel retainer, adjust idle RPM to 500-650 RPM with engine running in forward gearRetighten nut o.n adjustment screw3With end of throttle cable connected to throttle lever, hold throttle lever against idle stopAdjust throttle cable barrel to slip into barrel retainer on cable anchor bracket with very light preload of throttle lever against idle stopLock barrel in place4Check preload on throttle cable by placing thin piece of paper between idle stop screw and idle stopPreload is correct when paper can be removed with out tearing but has some drag on itReadjust cable barrel, if necessaryIMPORTANT: Excessive preload on throttle cable will cause difficulty when shifting from forward to neutral(Readjust throttle cable barrel, if necessary
