TESTING NEGATIVE BRUSHES for GROUND Set ohmmeter to (R scale)Place one lead of the ohmmeter on the negative brush and the other lead on the end cap (bare metal)If the meter indicates NO continuity, replace the negative brushRepeat this procedure on the other negative brush Starter Solenoid Test
Test starter solenoid as follows: 1Disconnect all leads from solenoid terminals2Use an ohmmeter, set to (Rx1 scale) and connect between solenoid terminals and 2, as shown3Connect 12-volt supply between solenoid terminals and 4, as shownSolenoid should click and meter should read zero ohms4If meter does not read zero ohms (full cont inuity), replace solenoid
