IGNITION (KEY) SWITCH TEST (Commander Remote Control) 1Disconnect remote control wiring harness and instrument panel connectorNOTE: Refer to wiring diagram at end of this section for correct identification of connector terminals2Set ohmmeter on scale for the following tests:
Ignition (Key) Switch Test (Commander) Ohmmeter on scale
Off Position, continuity between black (M) and blackyellow (M) Run Position, continuity between red (8) and purple (A) Start Position, continuity between red (8) and yellowred (S) purple (A) and yellowred (S) red (8) and purple (A) Choke Position, continuity between red (8) and yellowblack (C) red (8) and purple (A) yellowblack (C) and purple (A)
3If meter readings are other than specified in the preceding tests, recheck at ignition switch soldered connections to verify that switch and not wiring is faultyRemove and replace switch if meter readings are other than specified
