I TEST PO INTS Refer to preceding page for Test Point locationSAFETY WARNING: Disconnect yellow (atarter motor) cable from atarter solenoid teat Point BEFORE making teata 1-thru-7 10 prevent unexpected engine cranking"Battery Vol tag e
Use an ohmmeter (R scale) and connect meter leads between negative (-) battery post and common powerhead ground
No continuity indicated; there is an open circuit in the black negative (-) battery cable between the negative (-) battery post and the powerhead Check cable for loose or corroded connections Check cable for openI
Continuity Indicated Proceed to Test 2
No voltage reading; proceed to TEST 3TEST 3
aDisconnect black ground wire from Test Point 2bConnect voltmeter between common engine ground and Test Point 2cTurn ignition key to "Start" position I
aReconnect black ground wirebConnect voltmeter common engine ground and Test Point 3cTum ignition key to "Start" position
12 Volt Reading
Check black ground wire for poor connection or open circuitReconnect ground wire to starter solenoid; proceed to TEST 7
