Propeller Shaft Inspection
Check for bent propeller shaft as follows: 1Rotate the propeller shaft while observing the dial indicatorIf the deflection is more than 0.23 mm (0.009 in, bent propeller shaft is indicated2Check for propeller shaft end playThere should be no end playIf endplay exists, excessive wear has occured and gearcase must be disassembled for inspection
