Pinion and Driveshaft
1Place lower drive shaft tapered roller bearing into bearing cup2Place pinion gear into gear housing with teeth of pinion meshed with teeth of forward gear3Insert driveshaft into gear housing while holding pinion in place with other handRotate driveshaft back and forth to align splines on driveshaft with splines in pinion gear4Secure pinion gear to driveshaftApply Loctite "271" to pinion nut or boltRefer to table for "Fastener Type" and "Torque"Model 9.915 Bigfoot (4-Stroke) 2025 (2-Stroke) Fastener Type Pinion Nut Pinion Bolt Torque 15 lb-ft (20.3 Nm) 13.3 lb-ft (18.0 Nm)
