Adjusting Rewind Spring TensionStarter Interlock Cable Adjustment IMPORTANT: Lubricate core wire of interlock cable with light oil prior to making adjustments1While rotating the propeller shaft, place the ge ar shift lever into 2R eturn the ge ar shift lever to AL without going past neutral detent3Place end of interlock cable over pin of cam lever and secure with hair pin (Figure 4S ecure interlock cable to starter housing using adjusting screwDo not tighten screw at this time5Adjust interlock cable to align raised mark of cam lever with pointer of rewind housing
Rotate she ave counterclockwise until it stops (coil is bound)Then back off one full turn, plus what is ne eded to align rope end with hole in housingN ever back off she ave less than one full turnRoute starter rope thru rope guide in housingTie slip knot in rope approximately 12 in(305 mm) from end of rope51605
