Inspection Upper Drive Shaft Bearing
1Inspect be aring for rust, roughness or discoloration from lack of lubricant2D remove be aring from drive shaft unless be aring must be replaced as removal process will damage be aring3If be aring must be replaced, position drive shaft assembly in vise (jaws of vise supporting only be aring) and while holding drive shaft, strike top of drive shaft with le ad hammer and drive be aring off
Pinion Gear Bearing
1Inspect be aring for rust, roughness or discoloration from lack of lubricant2If be aring is damaged, be aring and race must be replaced as an assembly3If race appe ars to have spun in drive shaft bore, ge ar case housing must be replaced52823aringace
