Gear Housing Disassembly IMPORTANT: It is recommended that, during complete disassembly of gear housing, all 0rings and oil seals be replaced, regardless oftheir appearanceRefer to "Lubricant Draining Instructions", preceding, and draining lubricant from gear housingRefer to "Gear HousingRemoval," preceding, and remove gear housing from driveshaft housingRefer to "Water PumpRemoval" preceding, and remove water pump assembly from gear housingRefer to "PropellerRemoval" preceding, and remove propeller from gear housingAfter completing the above procedures, continue with the disassembly as outlined below: 1Remove screws which secure the a-ring retainer plate and a-ring to the bearing carrierRemove the a-ring retainer plate and a-ring from gear housing2Remove thrust hub cap from thrust hub3Install thrust hub onto propeller shaft so that the ears on thrust hub align with bearing carrier recesses 4Install propeller on propeller shaftSlide propeller up tight against thrust hub, then thread propeller nut up against propeller to help maintain propeller pressure against hub5Using either socket or wrench on hex head hub of propeller, turn propeller clockwise to unthread bearing carrier6Remove bearing carrier7Remove propeller nut, propeller and thrust hub from propeller shaft
