Crankshaft Installation 1Lubricate the crankshaft bearing surfaces with engine oil
6Lubricate the oil seals lips with oil7Install upper and lower oil sealsPosition oil seal lips as shown 8If removed, install dowel pins
2Carefully lower crankshaft into place
3Lubricate the connecting rod journals with engine oil4Assemble the connecting rods to the crankshaftInstall the connecting rod caps, aligning the code letter marked on the connecting rod and capaDowel Pin (2)Upper Oil SealLower Oil Seal
5Apply oil to the connecting rod boltsTighten bolts
in sequence and in two steps to the specified torque
Crankcase Cover Installation
1Clean off all oil from the contacting surfaces of the crankcase cover and cylinder blockIMPORTANT: Make sure the contacting surface of the crankcase cover and cylinder block are clean before applying gasket sealant
