5Check preload on throttle cable by placing thin piece of paper between idle stop screw and idle stopPreload is correct when paper can be removed without tearing, but has some drag on itReadjust cable barrel, if necessary6Reinstall outboard cowling7Reconnect POSITIVE (+) and NEGATIVE () cables to battery 3Loosen wing nut on friction device and insert pilot rod thru friction device and into tilt tube4Lubricate both ends of link rod with Quicksilver 2-4-C wTeflon5Secure link rod between steering handle assembly and pilot rod end as shown6Adjust wing nut on friction device to provide desired steering controlIMPORTANT: Tighten wing nut to increase friction; loosen to decrease friction
