Bearing Carrier and Propeller Shaft 1Drain lubricant from gear housing; refer to "Draining and Inspecting Gear Housing Lubricant 2Remove bolts and washers or self locking nuts if applicable
5Lift reverse gear, thrust bearing and thrust washer from bearing carrier6Replace reverse gear if gear teeth or clutch teeth on reverse gear are chipped or wornIf reverse gear must be replaced, pinion gear and sliding clutch should be inspected for damage7Replace thrust bearing and thrust washer if rusted, pitted or damaged
