PERIODIC INSPECTION Conduct periodicsystematic inspection to uncove and correct failure before il ca cause incon venience or mechan ical damageInspection inter val is ba sed on average operating co ndition in utility serviceUnder severe conditionsthe inspection interval shou ld be shortenedInspection includes: 7Inspect fuel lines for damage or deteriorat ion and service fuel filters as indicated in Sect ion 38Remove propeller and inspectT rim nicks and burrs with fi lebeing careful not to remove more metal than abso lutely necessa ryInspect fo cracks, damage bent conditionIf condition is doubtful, refer to au thorized Quic ksil ver Propeller Repair Stat ion faci litiesBefore reinstall ing propeller, coat propeller shaft with Quicksilver Special Lubrican 101, 24C Mult iLube or Perfect Seal9Inspec the engine surface fini sh fo damage or corrosionT horough ly clean damaged or corroded areas and apply matchi ng paint (Quicksilver Spray Paints) 10Check zinc plate (Figu re9) and zinc plate (bolted to boltom of transom bracket s) for damage or for deterioratio from salt water operationIICheck remote co nt rols and steeringBe sure that all con nections and fitt ings re in good condition, properly secu red and correct ly adjusted
