8Installation Gear housing gasket: ABApply sealant on both sides of new gasket (Special Tool NoT 8983) Install on lower gear housingSlide cam into slot in lower gear housingNote position, Figure 30
9Install upper gear housing on lower gear housing by aligning spring pin in front of lower gear housing with bore of upper gear housing Fi gure
During next step hold top of cam out of housing approximately 3 16" (4.76 mm)so forward gear position engages the shiH pin 4Install front bevel gear assembly on propeller shaH and place in bore of gear housing 5Install bevel pinion (drive) gear6Place thrust washer on rear bevel gear (reverse) and sl ide gear onto propeller shaH7Install shiH cam detent spring in hole in Iront of bevel pinion Figure 31 10Place hex nut and spring lockwasher ins ide lower gear hOUSing on stud of upper gear housing and tighten securely11 Apply sealant under head of 14 20 hex bolt (1ong bolt) (Speical Tool NoT 8983), Place bo lt in upper gear housing Torque to 125in Ibs (142kg cm) 12Installation Bearing cage:
