Remove two (2) friction shoe plates Remove brake cover with two (2) springsRemove conical (brake) spring, washer and bearing

00 not let rope retract Into starter hous ing
SRemove rotor and starter rope:Untie slip knot In ropeAllow rotor to unwind slowlyLift rotor with rope from cover
3Tie knot in starter rope4Remove starter by removing hex nuts and lockwashers that secure starter to fuel tankFigure 2
