ATOP FLYWHEEL WITH NYLON PAWL The end of the spring should be bent back toward the coil of the springInspect the paw for wear and that the edges are not roundedCheck the friction spring and link to be sure they are not distortedInspect the spindleThe spindle must be straight and tightSTARTER ROPE ASSEMBLING

INSTALLATION 1- Tie figure knot in the end of the ropeInsert one end of the new rope through the hole in the pulley and housing and on the back side of the pin, as shownContinue to wrap the remainder of the rope COUNTERCLOCKWISE around the pulleySAFETY WORD Wear good pair of gloves while installing the springThe spring will develop tension and the edges of the spring steel are sharpThe gloves will prevent cuts on your hands and fingers2- Slide the spring onto the outer pin and then start the spring from the outside edge of the housing and insert it into the housing COUNTERCLOCKWISE, as shown in the accompanying illustrationNotice the small hump in the housingThis hump prevents the spring from being wound in the wrong directionWork the first turn into the housing, and then hold the spring down
