HAND STARTERS
Inspect the starter spring end loopsReplace the spring if it is weak, corroded or crackedCheck the spring pin located at the back side of the pulley to be sure it is straight and solidCheck the inside surface of the housing and remove any burrsCheck the condition of the pawl springs to be sure they are not stretched out of shapeThe end of each spring should be bent back toward the coil of the springInspect the pawls for wear and that the edges are not roundedInspect the hub center locating pin to be sure it is straight and tightSTARTER ASSEMBLING
