in the casting guide, tighten the top screw until definite crimp is made in the cableIf the screw is not tightened enough, the inner wire will slip during operation and the adjustment will be lostCRITICAL WORDS Check the end of the cable to determine if the temper has been removedIf the end has bluish appearance, it has been heated at an earlier date and the temper removedThe te mper MUST be re moved to permit the holding screw to make crimp in the wire to hold an adjustmentIf the wire has not been tempered, heat the end, but not enough to melt the wireBring the second screw up tight against the wire3- Insert the shift cable control vertically into the trunion bracket and turn the cable to horizontal position, as indicated by the arrows in the accompanying illustration4- Attach the shift cable end to the shift lever on the engine by inserting the fitting into the shift control lever, and then
