AUTOLITE STARTER
DISASSEMBLING 2- Observe the caps and find the identifying mark or boss on eachIf the marks are not visible, make an identifying mark prior to removing the thru-bolts as an essential aid during asemblingRemove the thrubolts from the bracket and the starter motor3- Use small hammer and CAREFULLY tap the lower cap free of the starter motorOn the Autolite starter motor, the brushes are mounted in the end cap4- Pull on the armature shaft from the drive gear end and remove it from the field frame assemblyRemove the positive brush from its holderARMA TURE TESTING Testing for Short 5- Position the armature on growler, then hold hacksaw blade over the armature coreTurn the growler switch to the ON positionSlowly rotate the armatureIf
