TYPE III CARBURETOR

Low-speed the carburetor

needle valve and associated of 9.5 horsepower engine
passages to be sure they are- not dogged or contain any depositsNEVER use piece of wire or any type of pointed instrument to clean drilled passages or calibrated holes in carburetorMove the throttle shaft back-ana-forth to check for wearIf the shaft appears to be too loose, replace the complete throttle body because individual replacement parts are NOT availableInspect the main body, airhorn, and venturi cluster gasket surfaces for cracks and burrs which might cause leakCheck the float for deteriorationCheck to be sure the float spring has not been stretchedIf any part of the float is damaged, the unit must be replacedCheck the float arm needle contacting surface and replace the float if this surface has groove worn in itInspect the tapered section of the idle adjusting needles and replace any that have developed groove
